Referee Program
Do you desire to take your soccer leadership to the next level? Whether you are a previous player, parent of a player, or like to volunteer to stay active, we can help you grow! Jackson Hole Youth Soccer understands the importance of referees to youth soccer programs. We want to do our part to support our youth soccer program and strengthen the current referees and future upcoming referees. Our referee program both directly supports our club by providing referees for our Academy recreational games, but also organizes USSF Referee certification classes and acts as mentors to new upcoming referees.
Our referee coordinator, Trent Hultman, is experienced, well connected, and is actively involved in the referee scene within Jackson Hole. The first step to get started will be to contact us.

JHYS Recreational Referee
A great way to start is by officiating at the Recreational U9, U10 & U12 levels within our own club. It’s a great way to learn at the grassroots level including a hands on approach. This program allows you to start as an observer, move to an assistant referee, and eventually a center referee all at the academy recreational level. We can guide you in the proper steps to becoming fully certified and mentor you along the way.
USSF Certified Referee
For those wanting to become USSF (United States Soccer Federation) certified, we are actively recruiting youth and adults of all ages to re-certify and or start the certification process to become a USSF referee. There has recently been a high demand in referee’s, especially adults who have played in the past and/or are coaches, or are somehow affiliated with the sport. To start at our Recreational level, we are accepting applicants as early as 13 years old. Please note the minimum age to become USSF certified is now 14 years old.
Certification and re-certification classes can be scheduled in the Jackson area with a sufficient number of participants. Please check back often for posted schedules.
