United - Competitive Travel
United is Jackson Hole Youth Soccer’s travel soccer program, and is open to players born between 2007-2016. It is recommended for players who have played for multiple seasons and have a good grasp of soccer fundamentals. The program is designed to be in line with the United States Soccer Federation's (USSF) Player Development Initiatives, which place individual player development ahead of the accomplishments of the team. Although winning is fun and overall it can be a measure of progress, the result of any one game cannot truly measure development or even success. Developing successful players capable of playing at the highest possible level is our priority. United players are placed on teams primarily according to their birth year. This USSF standard is designed to place players in an age appropriate learning and development environment. You can learn more about JHYS team formation at each age group on their respective informational sections below.
There are two United seasons, fall (August 19 - October 19, 2024) and spring (April 7 - June 7, 2025). Players register for one or both seasons. Please note that you are eligible for a 5% discount in registration fees if you choose to register for both seasons at the beginning of our 2024-2025 soccer season. Our youngest teams (U9 to U12) will train two days per week with the remaining teams (U13 - U18) practicing three days per week. JHYS recognizes that travel sports in our region require a substantial commitment of time and financial resources. With that in mind, our United program seeks to maximize local opportunities while seeking out an appropriate level of competition for each team. We also strive to send all our teams to the same events and tournaments in order to allow families to travel together and build club camaraderie. All eligible United teams compete in the Snake River League based in Eastern Idaho, typically playing two games on a scheduled Saturday. They also compete in 2 regional tournaments per season. Game uniforms are required for participation and must be purchased through our existing online team store partner, Soccer Post, America’s Soccer Store. The uniform cost (approximately $125) is in addition to the registration fee. Ordering details will be emailed with your registration confirmation. After you have successfully registered for the program, you will receive a confirmation email with important detailed information on the upcoming season.
